Job Title: Quality,Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator

The Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator is responsible to the HRM for the carrying out of delegated tasks with regards the day-to-day Health, Safety and Environment issues of the Company's business.

Key Responsibilites/Skills:
-Responsible for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections and reporting;
-Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and make recommendations for their implementation;
-Perform jobs site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations;
-Responsible for monitoring adherence to company safety program by all employees and subcontractors;
-Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs/seminars for supervisors and field employees, with regard to Fall protection, Orientation, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid, construction-specific related issues, etc;
-Ensure timely completion of accident/injury reporting to Corporate Office;
-Ensure that the staff's working environment and facilities are functioning and contribute proactively to staff morale and productivity;
-Conduct Safety Committee meeting;
-Ensure that the Business Unit is aware and educated on all company and policies and practices;
-Contribute to the company and organization profitability by making sure that human resources programmes, systems and procedures are cost effective;
-Provide both professional and business input at the company;
-Ensure that action plans are developed, implemented and monitored.

Other Requirements:
-Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations;
-Knowledge of concrete form work, demolition, and heavy civil work is an asset;
-Working towards certification, or already certified, under the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations is preferred;
-Minimum of 5 years experience in building and construction company;
-Proof of necessary certifications in QHSE.
